Lefties Have a Whole Different Set of Priorities

Google sent me a link in an ad for Left-Handed, the site where you can meet your left-handed needs. This sounded too good to be true, and knowing quite a few left-handed people, I decided to check it out.

So I'm scrolling down, and checking out the categories of miscellaneous stuff that Southpaws need.

Scissors, I get.

Dining, sure. It's embarrassing to not be able to open a bottle of wine in front of company.

I'm sure a lot of accidents happen in the kitchen.

This is when it starts to get a little weird, though. Remember, these are categories that left-handed.com seems to think are essential to all lefties.

Hmm, this one doesn't seem all that necessary. Can that many cameras make left-handed model? Are you trading in quality for the ability to push a button with your dominant hand?

It's not so much that lefties need knives, it's that this particular knife looks like you use it to remove living organs from a struggling victim wrapped in duct tape. Also, the fact that the file's name is "lefty-knife-button.gif" is kind of funny.

Here we go. The meat and potatoes of this site, I am sure. Apparently, the amount of left-handed people clamoring for boomerangs to meet their needs was enough to make a category for them, let alone a category among the six essentials for all left-handed people. There are only two boomerangs in there, but how often must those two get bought to keep them going as a special category? Well I, for one, applaud you, left-handed.com, for assuring future generations of left-handed children that their Crocodile Dundee dreams will not go unfulfilled.

All in all, the site seems like it would be very useful if I needed a weird gift for a left-handed friend. Other than that, however, all I can do is enjoy the fact that there is a forum for Southpaws. FINALLY they are finding their voice on the internet.

Law School? Why not?!

So I'm going to start applying to law schools this year, out of the blue. Wish me strength.

I have also started running for an hour a day on my new elliptical machine (total impulse buy) and watching what I eat. 2006 is the year of the Steve!
