Al Franken

I'm reading Al Franken's book Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them right now. I highly recommend it to anyone with a soul and a sense of humor (in other words, anyone who voted for Bush should try elsewhere).

  • Bitch, if you're insulting The Hungry Caterpillar -- if you even know someone who at one time thought about insulting The Hungry Caterpillar -- I shall have to dispatch you.

  • I'm not insulting it. I loved it when I was four. Bush said that that was the book he was currently reading when questioned in the presidential race back in 2000.

  • Actually, no, he didn't say that. He said it was his favorite book as a child. Thing is, it didn't come out until he was already in college, making it impossible for it to be his favorite childhood book. He was either lying or didn't learn to read until he was in his 20s. I like to give him the benefit of the doubt and say it was his favorite book that he read to his daughters when they were little.

  • Suffice it to say, Bush has strong emotional ties to that book. Apparently, so does Jessica. Jess, have you ever thought about an affair with a high-level political figure?

  • What makes you so sure I haven't already had one?
